Plants & Trees
“Tea is more than just a drink, it is a form of life art.....”

da Costa A.R.T. (Amazon Rainforest Taste) started in 2014.
Our teas are planted at plantation Rust en Werk (Rest and Work), with a blowing salty trade wind blowing alongt the Suriname coast in the Commewijne District Commewijne. This ocean air salty, ocean trade wind functions as a natural barrier, among other things, againstlike fungi. The rich and clean clay soil is particularly suitable to grow Moringa Oleifera, Marva (Lippia Alba) and Soursop/ Zuurzak Graviola trees.
Suriname is part of the Amazon Rainforest of South America. The teas are pure products and did not go through any unnatural treatment. This also counts for the soil in which the plants are growing.
Our teas have a moisture content of approximately 6%. The content of the packaging doesn’t look that much but that is why you only need a little tea to make a nice and healthy cup of tea.
One teaspoon in a mug or cup with boiling hot water (203 degrees F) Let it set for 5-10 minutes.
We hope that the products will meet your expectations and will contribute to a healthy life style.

This diversification of essential oil components is responsible for the various uses in folk and herbal medicine. The essential oils in the leaves contain anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.
Marva is appreciated in the kitchen and as a medicinal herb. Popular in India as well as in the American Tropics. Fresh and dried leaves have a delicious lemongrass scent.
Also used to flavor soup, meat, fish and above all to make pleasant tea.

Soursop (Graviola)
Soursop or Graviola originated from the Amazon Rainforest; a small tree grows up to 15 feet (5 meter) and is much sought because of her delicious fruit. However, the Graviola bark, leaves, roots and fruits are also being used for centuries as traditional medicine in South America.
There is constant cancer research regarding this plant and the specific phytochemicals (annona – like acetoginins) which seem to have found anti – cancerous and anti – viral properties.
We deliver a mix of the Annona Muricata (ordinary or cultivated) and the Annona Montana (boszuurzak) (rainforest soursop).
